Business clientele are my primary focus, including closely held businesses, corporations, LLCs, and partnerships. My business and commercial law practice spans many areas, from the beginning of a business, to its needs during its existence, to the complexities often involved in winding up. Some of our practice includes due diligence lists generated by lenders, or work for a title insurance company that is about to insure a piece of commercial real estate for a business. One of my areas of specialty is liquor license issuance and transfer and liquor licensed entities. I also work in financing for the transfer or sale of a business. In the past two years, I have represented over $10 million worth of commercial property transfers, both real property and business assets. I have represented a variety of commercial entities including eating and drinking establishments, wholesalers of packaged goods, natural resource manufacturing companies (such as lumber companies), agriculture/agribusiness (including meat processing), service businesses, and institutional clients (such as East Stroudsburg University and its center for Center for Research and Economic Development). My environmental law experience lies mainly in the area of open space planning and conservation. Recently, there was a $25 million open space bond issue. This money is being parceled out to individual governments who are purchasing open space easements, and issue in which I help them. Other areas in environmental law include wetlands, hazardous and solid waste, and open space planning, acquisition, and financing. I can assist in obtaining of permits for wetland mitigation, the Pennsylvania Sewage Facilities Act (state law), and related permits. In the area of estates, I can assist individuals in drafting wills, and I also work with estate planners for those clients with more complicated estates. In addition, I have experience in handling non-resident decedents' estates, administering the assets in Pennsylvania of someone who has died outside of the state. I have appeared frequently before various Pennsylvania courts when fulfilling work of counsel to an estate or working on either side of a will contest.
